The Lali collection is a happy marriage of our interest in Akan and Ashanti woven, filigree gold patterns and also oft seen geometric patterns in historical Sierra Leonean architecture and design. The beaded edging on the lozenge pattern is a common feature of filigree gold in West Africa from a wide range of tribes from the Fullahs of Guinea to the Baule of the Ivory Coast.

About the Brand

Dar Leone is an Islington, London-based design studio founded by Sierra Leonean-American, Isatu Funna. They create and curate a globally inspired range of jewellery, textiles, wallpaper, cushions and objects inspired by Isatu's travels around the world and her childhood memories in Freetown.

With each of their designs, they reimagine traditional West African textiles in unexpected tones of cerise pink, mustard yellow, or chocolate brown. Although Dar Leone's inspiration is global, their production is local.
