Cock is a vintage Indian Matchbox Label. One of the most popular in the collection, with its vivd colours and stiking imagery (scuse the pun!)

Designed for the Sri Kaliswari Colour Matchbox company in Sivakasi which is at the Southern most tip of India. The&nbspcompany has been around since 1923 they also produce 90% of Indias firecrackers.

These framed posters were originally mid to late-20th-century matchbox labels, largely from the Old Eastern Europe and Russia. They have been digitally enhanced to a scale for all to enjoy. Used as an effective means of bygone commercial advertising in the days before modern media.

Founder, Jenny Lindop progressed from a long career in fashion working for Whistles and Pringle of Scotland, amongst others, to become an interior design consultant. Whilst sourcing products for an interior project she unearthed some beautiful vintage matchbox labels which ultimately inspired the curation of the current collection.
