Green Malawi Rattan Chair | Sample Sale

The Malawi chairs are handmade using rattan strips, which the artisans who make them, weave into intricate patterns along the sides of the chairs and the seat. Rather than using glue or nails which is common in European design, the makers secure the strips with special knots. To create a curved barrel back, they temporarily insert spare parts from cars and bicycles that guide them as they work. It takes approximately 10 days for an artisan to make a chair.

Please note, that the chairs are all handmade and each one will be slightly different, adding a beautiful charm to each piece. Some may have a slight wobble but this is easily fixed by adding furniture leg felt disc pads.

The Malawi Chairs should be covered if left outside.

Delivery

• As this item is part of our one-off Summer Sample Sale, all orders will be carefully packed and dispatched together. Our team will begin shipping orders during the week commencing 17th August 2026.

Returns

• You have 14 days from the date of delivery to let us that you would like to return this item. You can let us know at returns@theroost.com, stating your reason and your order number.
• After letting us know, you have 14 days to return the item to us. The item must be in the same condition it was in when you received it, and in its original packaging.
• Note: The cost of returning your items will be your responsibility, and we strongly recommend using a tracked service with insurance. We cannot be held responsible for returned items that are lost/damaged in transit.
