CHICKPEA was founded by textile designer and maker Harriett Grist, who started her business in a small garden studio in Winchester. The name CHICKPEA holds personal significance, stemming from affectionate nicknames Harriett and her two sisters shared - 'chicken' and 'pea.' While the brand name reflects her family ties, Harriett’s designs are also deeply connected to her sense of home. Many of her products are named after roads or historical figures associated with Winchester, grounding the brand in its origins.
