Materials

100% high quality Lambswool yarn. Merinos have been specially bred to produce the softest and finest wool. As well as being delightful to the touch, their lambswool can be recycled, it’s compostable and biodegradable, and therefore leaving no detrimental effects on the environment.

CHICKPEA was founded by textile designer and maker Harriett Grist, who started her business in a small garden studio in Winchester. The name CHICKPEA holds personal significance, stemming from affectionate nicknames Harriett and her two sisters shared - 'chicken' and 'pea.' While the brand name reflects her family ties, Harriett’s designs are also deeply connected to her sense of home. Many of her products are named after roads or historical figures associated with Winchester, grounding the brand in its origins.
