Hand woven from sustainably sourced sisal grass by a hardworking craftswoman working within a small weaving group in rural Kenya, these woven baskets make delightful home storage and can be used all over the home as desk tidies and planters, on bedside tables and coffee tables - or for knitting, crafting, toys, muslins or toiletries.

Product Care & Composition

The weavers behind these green storage baskets used to have to make the long journey to Nairobi to sell their work, but The Basket Room now brings them regular weaving work which can be done from the safety and convenience of their own homes. Finished baskets are kept in purpose-built mud huts before being shipped to us in the UK. As global demand for woven homewares ever increases, this wonderful group of artisans continues to grow under the guidance of its bold Chairlady, Madam Dorcas Ndinda.

Your orders keep her 150 weavers in regular work, and able to provide for their own families more comfortably through this flexible, portable and sociable craft.

We aim to dispatch all orders within 1 working day. Please note orders to N.Ireland & Highlands will take 2-3 days from dispatch.
Returns: customers have 30 days to return from date of ordering. Please get in touch with returns@theroost.com if you'd like to start the process for this item. Sadly, the original shipping cost is non-refundable and return costs are the customers responsibility.

Yes, we can ship most items worldwide. If you add an item to checkout and shipping costs don't automatically apply, feel free to reach out to hello@theroost.com to receive a shipping quote.

How long will it take to get my orders?

Please refer to the estimated lead time on each product page. You can find this under the 'Delivery & Returns' dropdown. We will try our best to get your order to you within this lead time, but occasionally, especially during bank holidays, your products may take a little longer to arrive. Once your order is dispatched, you will receive your tracking information by email.

What do I do if I need to return a product?

Most of our products are eligible for return within 14 days of delivery. If your product is made to order, we cannot accept any returns. Make sure to check the 'Delivery & Returns' section on each product page for more information.
