Handcrafted in La Chamba, Colombia, the Oval Cocotte is a refined expression of ancestral black pottery. Sculpted from natural clay and burnished by hand with agate stone, its deep black tone and soft satin sheen are achieved without glazes or toxins — just earth and tradition.

Its elegant oval silhouette makes it particularly suited to slow-cooked rice dishes, beans, pulses and oven-baked recipes, allowing heat to circulate gently and evenly. Finished with a fitted lid to lock in moisture and flavour, it moves seamlessly from stove or oven to the table.

Care Guide

Handmade from natural, non-toxic black clay, Chamba pieces are made to be used and cherished.
Before first use: Cure by filling to 3/4 with boiling water, placing in a hot oven, and heating for about 30-45 minutes. Allow to cool fully before washing.
Use: Oven-safe and suitable for open flame. Not compatible with induction. Avoid sudden temperature changes.
Care: Hand wash only. Not dishwasher safe. Restore sheen by wiping with white wine vinegar.

Crafted using ancestral techniques, each piece will develop its own rich character over time.
