A brilliantly executed and characterful surrealist still life composition, executed in tempera on board, by the established Swedish artist Eric Cederberg (1897-1984), whose artworks have been represented in several public and museum collections across Sweden.

The main focus is a still life arrangement, where the objects are flatly rendered, with strong outlines and solid colours, giving them a stylized, almost graphic appearance. The still life is set against a dramatic landscape featuring dark, jagged rock formations and a glowing yellow-orange sky. The horizon line is low, creating a sense of vastness and emphasizing the glowing sunset or sunrise. Two distant rocky outcrops are visible on the horizon, adding depth and a touch of realism.

This tempera on board is housed in a complementary gilt frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition. The frame has very minor scuffs, but is in good condition overall.
