Tabby Booth

Tabby Booth

Tabby Booth studied illustration at Central St Martins and co-founded Cygnets Art School and Sailors Jail Gallery with her husband Hessy. Tabby’s work uses a variety of mediums and styles, bound together by a love of texture and contrast. Whether this be layers of sgraffito oils on wood, or bright neon inks on rag paper, the result is always bold, and playful - made (as Tabby says) for the walls of bold, playful people. Tabby’s subject matter is invariably focused on animals, and often their relationship to humans. As a captivating mix of the two, and with a personal and physical closeness to the sea, mermaids are a frequent feature.
