The Esther design is named after one of our excellent women embroiderers from Kayole. Esther is 20 and lives in Kayole.

"Skylit has helped me learn a new skill, I now know how to sew and stitch different types of clothes. My favourite hand embroidery stitch is the chain stitch".

Sizing

All of our lampshades are table lamp UK fittings and are fitted with an ES Gimble ring with an inner diameter of 42mm.

SMALL - 8 inch - Bottom diameter- 20cm, Top diameter - 13cm, Slope height - 17cm

LARGE - 14 inch -Bottom diameter- 35cm, Top diameter - 23cm, Slope height - 24cm

About the Brand

Chloe Stewart Collective is a social enterprise that teaches hand-embroidery skills to women in Kenya, improving livelihoods, one stitch at a time. Creating pathways out of poverty for women in Nairobi, where 70% of households live on less than a dollar a day. By teaching traditional hand embroidery in the low-income Kayole settlement, they empower local women to learn new skills and generate a decent and sustainable income. Every purchase from Chloe Stewart Collective weaves you into the fabric of a larger story – one of social change, that instils hope in the community and provides independence for women. Alongside their embroidery projects, the support funds English, accountancy classes, family health education, and art workshops for children.

Each lampshade is made to order so please allow a 2-3 week lead time. If you require a special delivery, please get in touch and we will do our best to make this work.
